Reasons Why Jobs Might Not Be Posting on Indeed
Sometimes a job might not show up on Indeed for a few reasons. In most cases, when Recruiting sends your job to Indeed, it can be filtered or blocked based on Indeed's own posting policies.
Here are some common reasons why there might be a delay:
- It can take some time for a new job to show up on Indeed, even though it's added to your Careers Page right away. It might take up to 12 hours to appear or update on Indeed.
- If the job is listed with a general region instead of a specific city, like saying South Florida instead of Miami, it could cause a delay.
- Including a signing bonus or pay amount in the job title can make Indeed think it's spam and remove it. Using phrases like apply now or urgent need can also flag the job as spam.
- Indeed wants the job title to appear like it would on a business card for that role.
- If the application process asks for information that goes against state or federal rules, like asking about criminal history or salary history where it's not allowed, it could cause a delay.
- If the job description or application process asks for Personally Identifiable Information from candidates, it might not appear on Indeed.
- See Indeed Policy Page.
- If the job is old and has been removed or no longer appears in searches, it might need to be refreshed.
- See Refreshing Job Postings to fix this problem.
- If the application asks for sensitive information like date of birth, Social Security Number, or driver's license number, it could delay posting.
- If you include links in the application that take candidates to another site for assessments or documents, it could also cause a delay.
- We recommend that these be included in the Thank You for Applying email that candidates receive after submitting their applications.
