Stop accepting resumes for an active job posting

Learn how to remove a job from your Careers page and job boards while keeping it open so you can still review and manage current applicants.

Overview

Sometimes a job receives more applicants than you can manage. You can pause the job so it no longer accepts new resumes on your website or job boards, while keeping the job open in Recruiting.

This process is also called ending a promotion.

When you pause a job:

  • The job stays open and active in Recruiting.
  • The job no longer appears on your Company Careers page.
  • The job is removed from free job boards such as Indeed, LinkedIn, and ZipRecruiter.

Pause a job posting

  1. Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.
  2. Select the job title you want to pause.
    Shows the Recruiting dashboard
  3. Select the More Info icon to the left of the job title. A pop-up window opens.

What happens next

After you end the promotion:

  • A success message appears briefly.
  • The green Active label changes to a blue Promote label for the Company Careers Page on the Job Promotion page.
  • The job is removed from free job boards, including Indeed, LinkedIn, and ZipRecruiter.

The job remains active in Recruiting, and you can resume the promotion later if needed.

Troubleshooting

  • The job still appears on a job board.
    • Job boards may take time to update. Check again later or contact the job board directly if the posting remains visible.
  • You do not see the End Promotion option.
    • Make sure the job is active and currently promoted on the Company Careers Page.
