You must be an Admin or Staffing User in Recruiting to perform this action.
When you mark a candidate as Do Not Hire:
- A prominent notice appears on the candidate record.
- A banner appears on the candidate record indicating who the candidate was flagged by.
- The action is saved in the candidate's Newsfeed.
Note: This action affects all candidate records in your Applicant Tracking System that use the same email address. Example: Candidate has applied to multiple positions using the same email address. All records are marked Do Not Hire.
Mark a candidate as Do Not Hire
- Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking to open the Recruiting platform.
- Open the candidate record you want to flag as Do Not Hire.

Select the Information icon.

In the candidate information window that appears, select Flag – Do Not Hire.

In the confirmation window, select Yes, Do it.
After the action is confirmed, all candidate records with the same email address receive the Do Not Hire flag, a prominent notice on the candidate's record, and the action is saved in the candidate's Newsfeed.
Any candidate records with a matching email address will be highlighted in red in the Candidate Search list.
Troubleshooting
- The Do Not Hire option is not visible: Verify that you are a licensed user in Recruiting.
- The flag does not appear on duplicate records: Confirm that the candidate records share the same email address.
