Use information requests in Recruiting

Learn how information requests help recruiters ask candidates for more details, make applying easier, meet compliance needs, and connect with passive candidates without slowing down hiring.

This article is for administrators.

Overview

This feature allows you to collect more information from candidates already in Recruiting. Admins, Staffing Users, Hiring Managers, and Executives assigned to a job can use this feature to request additional information from candidates.

How it helps

  • Simplify the application process: Start with a short application. This improves the candidate experience, increases applications, and lowers drop-off. You can ask for more details later from top candidates.
  • Collect applications from passive candidates: You can send an application to candidates you added manually. Recruiting links the application to their existing profile.
  • Collect voluntary EEO info: Even if you do not need a longer application, you can request EEO info from candidates to close a compliance gap.

Send an information request to a candidate

Refer to Send information requests in Recruiting.

Before you send a request, make sure:

  • The candidate has a valid email address
  • The candidate is assigned to a job
  • The job is active and posted internally or externally
  • The job is not marked as Confidential

Remind or cancel an information request

  • On the Information Request you sent, select Rescind or Remind in the system-generated newsfeed entry.
  • If the request is rescinded, the link in the original request becomes inactive. They do not receive additional emails.
