Is a text notification sent to candidates when they opt into receive text messages?
Yes. After applicants opt in during the application process, they receive a confirmation text message with opt-out instructions.
Are candidates required to give written consent to receive texts?
Yes. When texting is turned on, a yes/no question automatically appears on all applications, asking the candidate if it is okay to text them. They have to answer yes or no. Candidates must opt in, providing consent, before they can receive text messages.

Does Recruiting disclose possible carrier costs and fees?
Yes. Recruiting displays a notice before and after opt-in that message and data rates might apply.

Is there an option to opt out of future texts?
Yes. The first text message includes opt-out instructions. An administrator or staffing user can also turn off texting for a candidate if requested.
What number do candidates see as the sender of texts from Recruiting?
Recruiting assigns a unique phone number to each company. If a candidate applies to multiple jobs, the system uses a different number for each job to keep conversation threads separate for each job.
What happens if a candidate calls the sending message number?
An automated message states that the number supports text messages only.
Can you schedule future text messages?
Yes. Select the clock icon next to Send Text Now, then select a future date and time. ![]()
Can attachments be sent over text message?
- Outbound attachments are not supported.
- Inbound attachments depend on the candidate’s carrier. If supported, the system saves the file to the candidate record.
Why can you not text candidates who applied before the texting feature was turned on?
These candidates did not opt in. If you obtain consent, you can manually turn on texting in the candidate’s Privacy Tools.

Can you access text messages on a personal phone?
Yes. You can access Recruiting through a mobile web browser. Text messages do not appear in your personal device’s text messaging application.
Can you create text message templates?
Yes. Each email template has a matching texting template. Texting templates work the same way as email templates; both can have auto-fill tokens and prepopulate text.

Can you turn on texting for a candidate if they did not opt in during the application?
Yes. Use the Privacy Tools in the candidate profile to turn on texting after you obtain consent.

Are there text reports?
Yes. Administrators can access reports in Reports under Marketplace. Reports include message delivery and counts for the last 2 years.

How do you cancel text messaging in Recruiting?
