This article is for administrators.
Overview
Sometimes, you need to create a confidential job. These are also called ghost jobs or blind job posts.
These jobs have very strict viewing rights, so you must be careful when setting them up. Because of this, people cannot apply directly to a confidential job since there's no safe way to handle ghost job postings.
Only certain people in your company can see a confidential job and its candidates:
- Any Staffing User assigned as a Recruiter
- Any User assigned as a Hiring Manager
- Any Standard User assigned as an Executive or Team Member
- All Administrators (default user right)
Everyone else cannot see the confidential jobs or their candidates.
Important:
- For security reasons, candidates submitted to confidential jobs are invisible to unauthorized users. They do not show up in any searches.
- When a job is no longer confidential, remove this setting so other users can find the candidates.
- Confidential jobs do not show up in Analytics reports. See the last section in this article for another way to get reporting: Steps to Gather Reporting for a Confidential Job.
Make a job confidential
- Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking.
- Find the job you want to make confidential. Select the job title. The job details screen displays.
- Next to the job title, select the blue more info icon. The job info popup opens.
- On the Job Info tab, mark the checkbox next to the Confidential Job field. A notification opens.
- Review the notification and select OK. The popup closes.
- Select Save. A notification displays that your update was saved.
- Select Close.
- The job is labeled CONFIDENTIAL on the Recruiting dashboard.
Ways to advertise a confidential job
After you create the job, you can post the confidential job on Indeed or another site you choose.
Candidates who respond on those external sites do not go into Recruiting because they are not directed to your careers page. When you get candidates from Indeed or other sites, use Create a Candidate to add and assign them to the confidential job.
Gather reporting for a confidential job
Confidential jobs do not show in reports in the Analytics section.
Use this option for reporting on confidential jobs:
- Go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking.
- Select the job title for the confidential job. The job details screen displays.
- At the top right, select Export This Flow Log.
- Your browser shows a download icon at the top. Select it to download the Excel file.
