How Do I Create Unique Source Tracking for Scannable QR Codes Used in Recruiting?

Describes how to create source-specific links to track candidate progress when they use QR codes on your printed materials and digital campaigns.

This article is for administrators, staffing users, and standard users assigned as hiring managers.

Access Requirements

Administrator and Staffing User Access

By default, administrators and staffing users have access to all job details:

Only administrators and staffing users can create the sources:

  • On the Recruiting dashboard, at the top, cclick Admin, select Company Settings, and then Sources.

Standard User Access

To access a job's details, Standard Users must be assigned to the job as a Hiring Manager.

After sources are created by administrators or staffing users, Standard Users can create tracking links for those sources.

Description

For the source-specific links you created to track where candidates begin their application process, knowing a candidate started from your QR code helps you measure the effectiveness of your outreach and tailor your recruiting strategy accordingly.

Why Use QR Code Source Tracking?

For more granular tracking of your QR Code sources, which allows you to:

  • Identify where candidates are finding your jobs — such as flyers, posters, or event booths.
  • Evaluate the success of your advertising efforts — so you can determine if your QR Codes are driving job seekers to apply.
  • Refine your recruiting strategy — by understanding which sources attract the most qualified applicants.

Steps to Create Unique Source Tracking for Scannable QR Codes

Step 1: Create the Source

Administrators and Staffing users see this article to create sources in your account.

  1. Log in to Paycor and go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking. The screen opens to display the Active Jobs in your company.

  1. If you want to add a tracking link for a specific job, proceed to Step 3. For the entire careers page, proceed to Step For the job you want to update:
  • Click the Promote link.
  • In the Tracking Links section, click the menu and select your Source.

Shows the Tracking Links menu

  1. Next to the field, click Create a Tracking Link.

Shows the link

  1. Hover over your selected Source and click Copy Link.

Two URLs will be available:

Link to the Job Description Page will take your job seeker to the job description, where they can read the details and information about your company, then continue to the application

Link to the Job Application/EEO Questionnaire Page will take the candidate right to your application for that position

Shows the Tracking Links popup

  1. Use this link when you’re creating the QR Code to be scanned for the job.
  • Applicants who scan the link and apply will come into your Recruiting platform tagged with that source.

Shows the location of the QR Code field

  1. To create a tracking link for your entire Careers Page, at the end of the Careers Page URL, add this: &gns=source
