How Do I Add a Recruiting iFrame to My Company's Careers page?

Describes how administrators can add an iFrame from Paycor Recruiting to display their open positions on their company website.

This article is for administrators

What Are the Benefits of Using an iFrame?

  • Faster loading of your Careers page
  • Complete control of the branding on your Careers page
  • More control over the content on your Careers page
  • Add or remove jobs on your website without IT or Marketing support

What's Required to Add an iFrame?

Your Company's Website:

  • A current and live Careers page on your company's website.
  • Access to the HTML editor on your company's website.

Paycor Recruiting:

  • Access to the Admin settings for the Recruiting Careers page.

Successful iFrame Placement Checklist

This checklist is described in detail in the topic below, Steps to Add an iFrame to Your Careers Page.

  1. Grant Recruiting access to your website editor or resource.
  2. Update the Hosting Settings in Recruiting.
  3. Add your company's Career Page URL in Recruiting.
  4. Add any extra allowed domains or test domains into Recruiting.
  5. Insert the Iframe code from Recruiting into your website's career page.

What Web Providers and Content Management Systems Support the Careers Page iFrame?

  Provider Supported iFrame?

Wordpress

  • Supports the iFrame.
  • Limits your use of JavaScript to certain plans.
  • Currently the feature is available on the Business or eCommerce plan, and if you have legacy plans it is only available on the Pro plan.

Supported

See the note under this table.

Wix

  • Does not support the placement of scripts like our ifFrame on their site.
  • There are no Paycor-supported workarounds at this time, and you will need to use our Paycor-hosted page.
  • For additional help or context, contact Wix support.

Unsupported

See the note under this table.

Squarespace

  • Supports the iFrame.
  • You must also add your Squarespace Internal URL to the allowed domains list inside Recruiting for the iframe to display. This is typically something like your unique name/username.squarespace.com

Supported

See the note under this table.

GoDaddy

  • Supports the iFrame.
  • Might limit your ability to embed scripts based on your plan type and the package you have.

Supported

See the note under this table.

Note if an iFrame is Supported or Unsupported

For the providers listed above, we are assuming iFrame support is based on the use of their native editor they have for easy use. Their editors might require a plugin to allow scripts like the iframe code to run on your site.

It might be possible with advanced HTML editing to place the script in unsupported environments, but we
cannot advise on those steps. If you need additional help, we encourage you to contact your website
provider.

Prevent Issues by Reviewing These Troubleshooting Items

Iframe Is Not Appearing on My Website

Review these:

  • Make sure the iframe code appears exactly as it is displayed in your Careers Page settings.
  • The iframe code must always be placed inside a <div> tag (the <p> tag does not work).
  • The script cannot be placed in the header or footer sections of your website.
  • The Security of the page must match the Career Page URL's security (http: vs https:).
  • Go to Recruiting > Admin > Careers Page and verify both of these:
    • In the Hosting Settings section, Use an iframe is selected. If it is not, mark it and click SAVE.
    • In the Allowed Domains section, the correct domains are listed.

Colors or the Branding of the iFrame Do Not Match My Website

You or your web team or analysts must update the CSS Styles in Paycor Recruiting. You can find that in the Careers Page Admin settings in Paycor Recruiting.

Note: This is an advanced task, and we recommend you have a good understanding of CSS before attempting to make updates to your Paycor Recruiting CSS code.

Jobs Are Not Grouped Correctly

You can group your jobs in many ways on your careers page:

  1. Go to the How Jobs are Displayed on Your Careers Site section on the left side to update the groups.
  2. After you finish, on the top right, click Save.
  3. To see the changes on your site, click the Careers Page Link.

My Careers Page Doesn’t Look Good or Work Well on Mobile Devices and Tablets

By default, we set you up with a responsive mobile page to give your candidates the best experience possible when applying by phone or tablet.

In Recruiting, go to the Careers Page Settings > Mobile Settings and make sure Responsive Mobile is marked:

  • If it is, and the mobile experience is still not working, more than likely the issue is related to the coding on your website, and not the iframe itself. Do this:
    • Ask your web team to troubleshoot and update your careers page to be more mobile-friendly.
    • Switch to Push Mobile to allow us to push basic mobile-responsive pages to your site.

Steps to Add an iFrame to Your Careers Page

Assign the Careers Website Editor Role in Recruiting to Your Website Editor

Before the person who edits the Careers Page can embed the code, you must verify they can access Recruiting and you must assign them the Careers Website Editor role.

Follow these steps:

Note: You must be an administrator to perform these steps. If the careers page editor is already an administrator, proceed to the next topic, Add an iFrame for the First Time.

  1. Log in and go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking. The Recruiting dashboard appears.
  2. At the top click Admin and select Users. A list of your users appears.

Shows finding a user

  1. Find the user in the list and click their name or click Create a User. The User Details screen appears.

Shows the additional permissions options

  1. Go to the Additional Permissions section on the right side of the user details screen and mark the checkbox next to the Careers Website Editor field.
  2. Click Save.

Recommendation for Non-Employee Website Editors:

Before you continue, verify you can see Careers Page in the Admin dropdown menu in Paycor Recruiting like shown here. If you do not see it, contact the administrator and have them follow the directions in the previous topic above to give you access.

Important: If your website editor is not an employee, we recommend locking out the user after they complete the functions described in the topic below. In Recruiting, if you do not assign this user to any jobs, they also cannot see candidate information.

Add an iFrame for the First Time or Switch from Hosted to iFrame

  1. Log in and go to People > Hiring > Applicant Tracking. The Recruiting dashboard appears.
  2. At the top click Admin and select Careers Page. The Careers Page screen appears.
  3. On the left, in the Hosted Settings field, mark Use an iframe

Shows the Hosting Settings

  1. On the top right, click SAVE.
  2. The right side of the screen updates with a new layout with your iFrame code and these additional fields to complete:
  • iFrame Code: This is the code you will need to embed in your careers page HTML.
  • Allowed Domains: This will automatically fill in when you add in your Careers Page URL below. If you have multiple domains or want to place the code on multiple sites, please make sure EVERY domain your company owns is listed here.
  • Career Page: This is the pre-configured careers page your company already has or is creating.
This should be the FULL URL of the page you want to candidates to use.
  • CSS Style: Paycor Recruiting automatically adds CSS Style here, you may update it here to match your site once you verify the iframe loads correctly.

Shows the iFrame settings

  1. When you finish completing the fields, in the Iframe Code field, click Copy. This copies the code to your clipboard.
  2. Click SAVE.
  3. With the code on your clipboard, go to your company's website management system to continue placing the iframe code.

Tip: Always place the code between <div> tags.

  1. Depending on your website, verify the iframe loads correctly and update the preloaded CSS in Paycor Recruiting.

Tip: You can switch back to the hosted page if you are just testing the iframe: Change the Hosting Settings field to Paycor will host our site.
